Are our search engines efficient?

Earlier, the data present in internet is very limited, so there was no need of a search engine at the beginning. Later as time passed by the data has been increasing exponentially and also the innovations in the internet had lead to new technologies and new data. All this could not be tracked by the human brains, so they started maintaining the records/files of data in enormous size. Later the data size grew too fast hat no one can ever know what the exact amount of data present in internet except from prediction of data. Internet search engines made the humans life easy in finding the required data.

There are three generations in search engines namely, first generation, web search engines 2.0, semantic web search engines. First generation search engines went through all the web pages and displayed the l for any key words used by the user. Web 2.0 search engines like Google the web pages using page rank and back links of various web pages present on the internet. We still don't get satisfying results when we use them because they can't interpret what we are trying to search for precisely. Semantic web search or third generation web search engines are prevalent in this and are going to be deciphering human thoughts and search relative to his thinking and get results. Though these are not available in the market, we are hoping to see them very soon.
